With snow days, NCTIES, testing, etc., we got way behind on keeping up with the game scoring. While we originally planned to each work on all the classes, we finally decided to each take one class. Also, we pared down the amount of data we were collecting on the master scoring sheet so there isn't as much manual entry to be done when scoring. That helped immensely, and I finally have a completed leaderboard to share with the 4th period class!
Ms Shelton was out yesterday, so I showed the students how to use Tellagami, which is a new iPad app I learned about at NCTIES during a pre-conference session with Richard Byrne. There were a few glitchy app problems, but overall, the students enjoyed working with the app, and turned out some nice products! One problem we had was not being able to get the videos off the iPads once they were saved to the camera roll. That is a problem with the way the iPads are configured, not with the app itself. Ms Remington is going to upload the videos to her MacBook, and once that is done, I will share some of them with you here.
Students are also creating digital collages (including Pinterest pages), Web pages (Weebly and Glogster), video playlists, and mock social media pages. The tweaking we did this week should help a lot in keeping things moving forward.
